Diagnostic endoscopy:

  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (imaging of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum)
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCPG; X-ray examination of the bile ducts and ducts of the pancreas by the method of endoscopic contrasting)
  • Cholangioscopy (imaging of the bile ducts with a small endoscope)
  • Proctoscopy (rectal imaging)
  • Ileocolonoscopy (imaging of the large intestine and lower parts of the small intestine)
  • Chromoendoscopy (endoscopic examination of the mucous membrane, stomach or intestine using a special staining method)
  • Endosonography of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, pancreas, mediastinum and rectum (ultrasound examination of the wall of the gastrointestinal tract and internal organs using ultrasound probes mounted on the endoscope)
  • Endosonography with mini-probes of the upper sections of the gastrointestinal tract and bile ducts (ultrasound examination with the introduction of small ultrasound probes)
  • Endosonographically directed puncture (removal of the tissue of internal organs by puncture under sonographic observation)
  • Percutaneous puncture of the liver according to Menghini (sampling of tissue from the liver by means of a special needle)
  • Mini-laparoscopy (imaging of the abdominal cavity)
  • Capsular endoscopy of the small intestine (capsule for ingestion with direct endoscopy from the small intestine) and spiral enteroscopy (imaging of the small intestine)
  • Double balloon endoscopy (small intestine imaging)

Therapeutic endoscopy:

  • Endoscopic method of arrest of bleeding (injections of adrenaline, fibrin patch, hemaclip application, argon-plasma coagulation, sclerosing, histoacrylic glue, ligature of varicose veins of the esophagus)
  • Endoscopic therapy of varicose veins (treatment of varicose veins in the esophagus and stomach)
  • Snare biopsy (removal of deep layers of gastric tissue with a loop)
  • Polypectomy and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR, endoscopic removal of polyps or tumors with a loop and high-frequency current)
  • Bougienage and balloon dilatation (treatment by stretching) of narrowing in the esophagus, bile ducts and ducts of the pancreas, as well as rectum
  • Implantation of plastic prostheses: a self-expanding prosthesis with a wire frame into the esophagus, as well as into the bile ducts and ducts of the pancreas
  • Cystogastrostomy (endoscopically directed drainage of the pancreatic cyst in the stomach)
  • Electrohydraulic lithotripsy of stones in the bile ducts (crushing stones in the bile ducts)
  • Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy of gallstones and stones in the ducts of the pancreas (breaking of gallstones or stones in the pancreatic ducts by means of mechanical shock waves)
  • PCG and PCD (percutaneous cholangiography and drainage)
  • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrotomy (PCEG) and jejunostomy (PEJ) (installation of nutritional probes in the stomach and small intestine)
  • Therapy of proctology (obliteration with hemorrhoids, ligature with hemorrhoids)

Diagnostic sonography:

  • Transabdominal sonography (ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity and gastrointestinal tract)
  • Sonography of the thyroid gland
  • Doppler and color duplex sonography (abdominal/retroperitoneal vessels/peripheral arteries and veins)
  • Sonographically controlled puncture with a thin needle (ultrasound-guided tissue puncture from tumors and pathologically altered organs)
  • Contrast enhanced sonography

Therapeutic sonography:

Sonographic directional drainage of effuses, abscesses and cysts of the pancreas

Percutaneous sonographic gastrotomy (installation of the nutritional probe over the abdominal wall in the stomach under the ultrasound control)

Percutaneous instillation of ethanol (sonographically directed therapy with injections of alcohol in carcinoma of the liver)

Further gastroenterological functional diagnostics:
