SAFE ARTIFICIAL JOINT REPLACEMENT
In Germany, every year, more than 400,000 artificial joints are implanted.
The EndoCert Program of the German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery is required to provide high-quality standards for such interventions.
The certified Center for Endoprosthesis Replacement approves all measures for the installation of artificial joints, from the definition of indications in the medical admission and up to rehabilitation. In addition, it is performed a regular external control of all processes. Operations to replace hip or knee joints are carried out only in the presence of one of the chief surgeons at the Center for Endoprosthesis Replacement.
In Germany, the first centers for endoprosthesis replacement were certified in 2012. The Clinic of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Hand surgery established since 2014 is the Certified Center of Endoprosthesis Replacement and thus one of the first medical institutions of such design in the region. To date, our Clinic has about 300 operations for installation of artificial hip and knee joints for arthrosis or after fractures, which are performed by four of our chief surgeons.
