The Throat and Neck Tumour Centre brings together the best specialists from otolaryngologists, oncologists, radiologists and radiation therapists in Germany. As a result, patients with all Throat and Neck diseases at the Solingen Clinic have the unique opportunity to receive a full range of services, from examinations to chemotherapy and radiation therapy. 
At the Throat and Neck Tumour Centre, special attention is paid to the surgical treatment of tumours of all organs of the nasopharynx. Repeatedly our specialists have successfully operated on patients who were rejected by other doctors who thought that the tumour was inoperable.
Surgeries are performed both by otolaryngologists independently and with the support of doctors from the Clinic of Neurosurgery. More than 2,000 patients with complex cases are treated and rehabilitated each year at the otorhinolaryngology and onco-lor centre of the University Hospital Solingen.
For many years, Professor Andreas Sesterhenn, M.D., has been the head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and the Onco-Lor Centre of the University Hospital Solingen. Professor Sesterhenn is an honoured otolaryngologist and onco-surgeon, successfully continuing a family dynasty of physicians. On a daily basis, the professor and his colleagues successfully perform diagnostics and complex surgical procedures of the highest class in patients with cancer. The professor is a member of many medical societies and associations and has repeatedly been ranked among the best doctors in Germany. Andreas Sesterhenn is the author and co-author of 78 medical publications, actively participates in scientific work and is a member of the associations of the German Society of ENT Medicine and the German Society of Palliative Medicin.

For the treatment of patients from other countries, the University Hospital Solingen has an international department whose staff helps non-German speaking patients and their relatives to receive medical care. The clinic staff organise consultations and treatment in the hospital departments.
