Институт диагностики и интервенционной медицины
The Diagnostic Department or the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Medicine is one of the first places a newly arrived patient goes to.
Almost every person arriving at the University Hospital Solingen uses the services of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology during their stay at the hospital. It includes not only inpatients, but also outpatients
and emergency patients.
The department is headed by Professor Sebastian Keil.
The institute specialises in radiological diagnostics using state-of-the-art equipment CT (computer-aided diagnosis), X-ray, angiography, coronarography or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) , also MRI and CT with contrast.
These are concepts that are now commonly used by doctors and patients and are an integral part of modern diagnosis and therapy.
The diagnostic stage is the most important, even if the patient has had a number of laboratory or instrumental tests before coming to the clinic, in case of doubtful results or an unconfirmed diagnosis, additional diagnostics may
be ordered. The medical team assesses the general condition of the patient, the presence of chronic and acute conditions and determines the subspecialist and department that will manage the patient until the patient is fully recovered
or in remission in the case of oncological or chronic diseases.
In some cases, patients also undergo post-operative diagnostics to ensure that the removal of tumours, cysts and any other neoplasm is correct and accurate. Also, while the patient is in hospital, he can quickly and easily take any
blood tests, urine, blood chemistry, etc., so that the attending physician constantly monitors the patient’s condition and, if necessary, can provide any medical assistance or advice.
If you come to the clinic to undergo a full body diagnosis for preventive purposes under the Check-up programme, you are also admitted to this department. In just a few hours a day, you will receive comprehensive information about
your health condition and will be able to receive qualified counselling from specialised and related specialists.
