The department of Paediatrics at the Academic Hospital Solingen is the first clinic in North Rhine-Westphalia to be certified as a ‘Child-Friendly Paediatric Clinic’ by the World Health Organization (WHO).
A child’s illness is always difficult and sometimes a visit to the hospital is unavoidable. Our doctors will try to make your stay in the paediatrics department as comfortable as possible.
Our leading paediatricians carry out inpatient diagnosis and treatment of almost all diseases of children and adolescents, especially in acute cases. Specialised doctors use the most modern equipment and carry out treatment and examinations according to the most advanced methods.
Your child and you, as parents, are always in the centre of attention of the doctors of the paediatrics department. All children are accommodated in the wards of the Children’s Centre according to their age.

Dr Propson’s many years of experience have established him as a leading expert in neonatology and paediatric cardiology in Germany and Europe. His dedication and commitment to the highest level of care for young patients is reflected in his work. Dr Propson’s research and scientific publications demonstrate his in-depth knowledge and commitment to development in paediatrics.
In addition to his primary work, Dr Propson spends a great deal of time on continuing education to ensure that his patients receive the most up-to-date treatments in his department.
Dr Propson began his medical career in 2006 and became a specialist in paediatrics and adolescent medicine in 2011. For many years Dr Propson worked as a leading physician in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Leverkusen Hospital in Leverkusen, Germany, where he was also responsible for managing the paediatric intensive care unit. In addition to his primary work, Dr Propson spends a great deal of time on continuing education to ensure that his patients receive the most up-to-date treatments in his department.
