Private docent Dr. Maximilian Schulze-Hagen

Privat Associate Professor Maximilian Franz Schulze-Hagen, MD, was born in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Since November 2023, he has been Deputy Chief Physician of the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Solingen City Hospital under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Keil, MD. Previously, from April 2023 to November 2023, he held the position of lead physician at the same clinic. Dr Schulze-Hagen is a leading specialist in Germany and in Europe in the field of diagnostic and interventional radiology and has extensive medical experience.

From November 2019 to March 2023, Dr Schulze-Hagen was a senior physician at the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital of the Rheinische-Westfalen University Hospital of the Technical University of Aachen. In this position he was deputy head of the MRI department and department at the Franciscan Hospital, was responsible for the clinical management of uro-radiological diagnostics and prostate consultations, and was also responsible for radiation safety.
He received his recognition as a specialist in radiology in September 2018. Previously, from 2018 to 2019, he worked as functional senior physician in the Department of Interventional Oncology at the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital of the Rheinische-Westfalen Technical University Aachen.

Dr Schulze-Hagen brilliantly defended his doctoral thesis in 2014 at the Clinic for General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery of the University Hospital of the Rheinische Westfalen University of Technology Aachen. His dissertation entitled "Primary resection with protective ileostomy versus Hartmann procedure for perforated diverticulitis - comparison of intestinal transit recovery rates" received the highest grade.

He received his Ph.D. in Radiology at the Rheinische Westfalen University of Technology Aachen with a thesis entitled "Quantitative imaging biomarkers for predicting disease progression and treatment stratification", which he successfully defended in January 2023.

Dr Schulze-Hagen received his medical education at the Rheinische Westfalen University of Technology Aachen between 2006 and 2013, graduating with a distinction. As part of his practice year from August 2011 to October 2012, he gained international experience at the Centre for Excellence in Cardiac Care at Columbia University Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY, USA.

  • Cancer Imaging: Specialise in imaging techniques for cancer detection, staging and monitoring response to treatment.

    prostate imaging. Q2-Certificat for mpMR prostatography, specific certification for prostate diagnosis
    using multiparametric MRI.
  • Musculoskeletal Imaging: Experienced in bone, joint and soft tissue imaging for a comprehensive
    comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluation.
  • Interventional Radiology: Skilled in minimally invasive procedures using imaging techniques for targeted therapeutic interventions.
