Peter Schenker is renowned in the world of transplantology and was a top doctor at the University Hospital Bochum for 20 years in the Department of General Visceral Surgery and Transplantology. The professor specialises in traditional medicine, surgical, minimally invasive, laparoscopic treatments in abdominal surgery.
Thanks to the professor and his team, the department has been modernised through the introduction of modern surgical techniques and especially improved methods for postoperative recovery. The Solingen Hospital Department of Surgery is currently extending its focus on minimally invasive surgery in the direction of robotics even further. The clinic has allocated a large budget to purchasing the most modern equipment in order to offer patients the full spectrum of surgical treatments for benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus, lungs, stomach, liver, pancreas and intestines according to the current guidelines and using the most modern technical equipment.
Dr. Schenker is active in research and teaching. He lectures at medical universities and runs seminars and workshops for his colleagues. He closely cooperates with the Oncological Center, the Pancreatic Cancer Center, the Center for Bowel Cancer and the Interregional Center for Traumatology.
